Bathing Beauties

The theme for this week is Bathing Beauties. It was picked by Melanie, the first to post her Little Angels postcard. Melanie said "how about we say goodbye to the cold and rain and have some sunshine in the form of 'bathing beauties'". Love the fact that I have several old postcards and collage sheets and had one ready to go. This is a fabric postcard with a fabric image and the text is stamped on organza ribbon. Be the first to post your postcard for this week and pick the theme for the week of December 29. The theme for next week will be Christmas. I need to know now so I can be ready since I will be out of town for several days next week. Have fun and join in!

Little Angels

The theme for Saturday, December 8, is Little Angels. I had to be corrected on this one. I had previously posted the theme as "Wings". I knew better, just typed the wrong thing. Melanie did post a very pretty little angel and was the first one to post, so all is okay. I have not had a chance to make my card yet. I am trying to finish up some fabric Christmas postcards to put in the mail next week. My gingerbread men do not hav wings....lol, so can't post one of those. Although, that would make for an interesting gingerbread man. Hmmmm.... Will post mine soon. Who wants to be first this week and pick next week's theme?

Paris

The theme for this week is Paris! This is a postcard I made from one of the Tim Holtz books. I used 7 Gypsies papers and bottlecaps, of course, along with some distress inks and rubber stamping. The hardest part for me was punching those little holes to attach the charms. I seem to have trouble with those little things. The theme for next week will be determined by the first person to post a Paris postcard. Just name your theme in your comment with the link to your blog. We need to get this thing rolling....lol You don't have to mail the cards if you don't
want to. Just post like in any other challenge.

I'm Thankful For

Our theme this week is "I'm Thankful for....". I thought about this for a bit, trying to get chocolate in there somehow. But what about friends and family? This covers them all. Many years ago a friend gave me a "secret" recipe for Redwater Brownies. Only a few people had the recipe. My kids loved those brownies and loved taking them in their lunch when they were in school. They always felt like they had a special treat in their lunchbox. And - they have chocolate in them! So - I covered it all. I still make the brownies and each time I do, I think about my friend and how much the kids loved those brownies. Actually, it's my daughter that makes them now and I just get to enjoy. BTW - the recipe was on the back of the card and I forgot to scan it. If anyone really wants it I will send you a postcard!

Let there be Music!

Here is my entry for the first postcard challenge. I'm not sure why I chose music other than it is one of my favorites. Right up there with Travel and Birds, so expect to see them sometime soon.
I was thinking about the theme for next week since it is Thanksgiving here in the states (even though the leftovers will almost be gone by next Saturday) and the theme will be "I am grateful for". That should leave things pretty wide open. Maybe it's family or your faith or getting the last piece of chocolate cake. Yes, that piece of cake would be close to the top of my list....lol So, interpret that one any way you wish. I will tell you now, I am grateful for all of my internet friends, both old and new. I wish everyone a very happy holiday, and for those of you not in the states and not celebrating Thanksgiving, have a piece of chocolate cake for me anyway.

Hi all! Welcome to Treasure Art Trends Saturday Postcard Madness. We will have a weekly postcard challenge beginning Saturday, November 17, with a new challenge each week. Most of the time the challenge will be a theme but once in a while we will add a technique to the mix. This challenge will have a bit of a twist. Your postcards can be mailed to others taking part in the challenge! I will provide you with a link to our Treasure Art Trends Yahoo group. You do not have to take part in the group if you choose not too. You can set your options for reading messages only so you are not receiving a ton of e-mail. I will set up a seperate contact database for those taking part in the postcard challenge so you will have access to the names and addresses of others taking part in the challenge. And of course, if you choose to keep your postcard or mail it to a friend, that is your choice. We just want to give you a way to share all of the wonderful postcards you make. Stay tuned. I will add the links and instructions for the challenge during the week and we will be ready to get started on Saturday, November 17.

Our first theme will be MUSIC!
